This is where your Yorkshire Breakfast comes from…

The delicious bacon comes from Lishman’s of Ilkley. The multi-award winning butchers, who own their own rare breed pigs, have been named ‘food heroes’ by the renowned chef Rick Stein. Lishman’s also make our lovely Old Registry sausages especially for us. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find sausages without E621 (monosodiumglutomate), E221 (preservative), E451 (stabiliser), E301 (acidity regulator) or E128 (colour) but at our request Lishman’s rose to the challenge and produced a sausage with only natural ingredients.

The secret recipe for “Doreen’s Black Pudding” was devised by Doreen Haigh over 20 years ago and is oven baked rather than boiled. This concentrates the black pudding flavour in the most effective way possible. Last year Arthur Haigh won the 25th Great Yorkshire Pie, Sausage and Black Pudding Competition with their traditional entry Doreen’s Black Pudding.

They also won the trophy for the best black pudding for the second year running. This carries on from their International Award for the Best Black Pudding of the Year in 2002.

Stamfrey
Stamfrey Farm lies between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and has been farmed by the Gaudie family since 1963. Having perfected the art of clotted cream the family has now focussed their attentions on making delicious yoghurt. This low fat yoghurt (0.8% fat) is made with their own organic skimmed milk and a fair-trade and organic raw cane sugar (less than 3%). The result is smooth pouring yoghurt, ideal for use over cereals at breakfast, a low fat alternative to have with fruit or simply eat on its own

Birchfield Dairy farming at Birchfield Farm, Summerbridge in the heart of Nidderdale has been in the Whitley family for three generations now. At the start of the new millenium Martin and Lorraine introduced 10 Jersey cows into the original Holstein Friesian herd and then gradually swapped over completely so that now all their dairy products, (butter, thick Jersey cream, ice cream, & yoghurt) are made from milk and cream produced by their own herd of pedigree Jerseys.
